About Us

So here I am going to give you the work of several years of research by a football enthusiast and for football enthusiasts and their history.

For the past 30 years

I have been a very modest player, a coach, a club president, supporter of the French team and Paris SG, and today the father and coach of two little 6-year-old footballers. This sport has allowed me to meet so many people, so rich.

About us

For example,

I went to the gates of the desert for a wedding of one of my players, in a Malian village for a humanitarian project. This sport has always been present in my life and I saw it as an opportunity to open up to the world. This is why I have always wanted to know more about what I consider to be the most beautiful sport in the world.

How can I say this?
For lots of reasons!

The first reason

being that it is the only globalized sport. There are over 270 million practitioners worldwide and nearly 3.5 billion fans. Everywhere I have traveled, in South America, Central America, Asia, Africa and Europe, you can find pitches of more or less good quality with footballers of all levels and all ages. It is also often the first topic of conversation when meeting new people all over the world without sometimes even being able to speak the same language. Everyone knows Cristiano and Messi, while few of us are able to name the politicians who direct our destinies. The practice of football requires only one ball to play dozens of players and in this area only athletics can be compared to football.

The second reason

The second reason is that in my opinion it is technical. It's a sport that's both simple insofar as everyone can "kick a ball" from the first days of their life until very late (I recently discovered the championships for the over 65s!) , and also with very complicated gestures to perform. Everyone can remain admiring in front of a curled free kick, a stepover which makes the opponent fall on the buttocks, an elastico... There is therefore in football a strong artistic side which even allows us to qualify it as art.

The third reason

The third concerns the tactical dimension. It is a collective sport and like many of them this dimension is important to win matches. But in football more particularly there is an almost infinite number of game systems. Each composition lends itself to comments from its many and animated fans.

The fourth reason

The fourth would be the scarcity of goals. Indeed there are only a few goals in a professional match (just over 3 on average), which therefore creates an explosion of joy more intense than in any sport. The moment of the goal is rare. The other consequence is that there are more surprises in the results than in any other sport. So everyone has the feeling of being able to beat everyone at 11 against 11.

In my many footballing discussions, I have always heard comparisons to know which was the best player, the best club, the best nation at such and such a period in history. For 10 years, depending on my availability, I have therefore been looking for information since the creation of this sport by scrutinizing numerous articles on the net or in books and all over the world. Like many, I have consulted the results of the world cups, the most famous championships in history.
I therefore wanted to trace the history of football in my own way through the greatest champions who have practiced this sport. I realized that several enthusiasts, in Argentina, Germany, England, and France in particular, had already carried out research to classify the greatest players in history on the “Top 100”, by nationality, in “Hall of Fame”.

But it is difficult to remain objective in these rankings where players from the country of the author of this ranking are often too privileged. Also to have the broadest view of almost 150 years of history, I will therefore present to you the 2000 greatest players in history. Thus, I had to study the files or information of more than 4500 players present in the 6 confederations by comparing their statistics and their prize list.
The other objective of this study is to be able to analyze with sorting the impact of each nation, each continent in world football. It will also be possible to sort the players by decade to notice the evolution of football from which more and more champions are emerging. This will also make it possible to identify which clubs are the most talented trainers. The idea is therefore not to retrace a precise biography of 2000 players but to be able to situate each talent, from each country in the history of football and this by having made the most objective selection possible.

I therefore let you discover the players these “FOOTBALLSTARS”, from the oldest English dribbler William COBBOLD, to the youngest player in the selection, the still English midfielder Jude BELLINGHAM.
